In a last minute idea for someone else's Christmas gift I got them a lovely set of stitch markers from a seller on Etsy called HeyButtons, which only made me realize how much I wanted a pair. I wasn't ready to splurge on myself for a set, plus I'm far too particular, and I'd heard that they weren't too hard to make, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I went down to Beadworks on Granville Island for some pretty cobalt blue fancies and found the metal rods at a dollar store. Score. I think I paid about $3 for everything. Granted, making them was made more difficult being that I don't have needle nose pliers, but they still came out nice enough that I feel a good deal classier using these that those nasty plastic ones I used to use.
I ended up with 10 regular (little triangle) markers for general use and 2 long ones for marking the start of a round or something particular. This satisfies me.
