Recently, I hosted what I hope will be the first of many Craft Parties at my place where several friends gathered with me to work on various kinds of crafts, some of us trying out ones we have never done before. I was among those working on a new challenge and I decided to try out decorating ceramics and such. I had originally intended to decorate some coffee/tea mugs, I found some tiles on our excursion out to Urban Source at the start of the evening and thought they would make a good practice round to be used as drink coasters.
I started off with simply a Sailor Jerry tattoo theme, but that took on a slightly love/valentines kind of theme too by the end of it. Our printer was down, so I had to do these fully freehand while looking at images on my computer. That was a bit more challenging than I had hoped for, but I'm still very pleased with how they turned out.
I hope we can have another Craft Party soon and come up with more ways to experiment with our skills.
