For a long time now I have been aching (literally) for a smaller purse to carry when I don't need to schlep all of my usual trash with me. A clutch purse was in order. As usual, a lack of budget and desire to make things meant that I would find a way to do it myself. Not having made anything with a purse frame before, I came across the very basic and inexpensive type on sale at Dressew and toted that home with high hopes. I made my first attempt and realized I didn't know how to get the stupid frame to stay on the cloth bag. I clamped it on as tight as I could, and it wouldn't hold. Again and again it came loose and my frown grew deeper.
Then I found this lovely tutorial over at u-handblog which saved the day.
With those instructions in hand, I was finally able to have the confidence to cut into the precious bit of Amy Butler 'love' fabric that was one of my rare splurges on non-sale fabric.
Fun, but still fairly versatile in what I can wear/carry it with, and big enough to still hold all of the necessities I might want to grab and go with. I am pleased. And with this handy tutorial in hand I may well be making some more...
we'll see.
