A good day. Wonderful time at church this morning, seeing friends, and then my silly desire for a trip to Ikea was fulfilled. Hopefully, I am now one step closer to organizing our home.

In today's line-up, we have a couple items that I haven't posted since I made them.
First is the wool blend circle skirt, modeled after those seen in the LV collection this past Fall. Mine comes complete with one side seam pocket. I wish all of my clothes had pockets. I just used good old fashioned math to create the pattern for this. If only I was better at math, I'm sure it wouldn't have taken me so long to do that.
Next up is the blouse. These are incomplete photos, since I have it tucked in, but I'm sure I'll be wearing it again this month. This blouse is an older item. It is from the era of 100% hand-stitched stuff. It also has no pattern as I draped and decided as I made it. All I knew was that I wanted a blouse with pintucks and a slight Edwardian nod. It is made of lovely silk crepe that was sent to me by my sis as reject material for her wedding dress. I always put free material to use.
Beautiful, im trying to figure how u got those pleat like things in the skirt...
ReplyDeleteIn the blouse? I will be wearing the blouse tucked out soon enough and I will be sure to get some more detailed and clearer photos so you can see how it was constructed.
